OPP CHARGE CHATHAM-KENT RESIDENT IN CHILD EXPLOITATION INVESTIGATION

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) - Police have arrested and charged a Chatham-Kent resident following a child sexual exploitation investigation.
On Thursday, March 5, 2026, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Child Sexual Exploitation Unit (CSEU) executed a search warrant at a residence in Wallaceburg. Assistance was provided by members of the Elgin County OPP, Chatham-Kent Police Service and the OPP Digital Forensics Unit. Several electronic devices were seized.
As a result of the investigation, Kevin McCORD, 49 years old of Wallaceburg, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:
- Luring a person under 18 years of age by means of telecommunication, section 172.1(1)(a)
- Luring a person under 16 years of age by means of telecommunication, section 172.1(1)(b)
The accused was released from custody following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Chatham on Thursday, April 2, 2026.
