COLLINGWOOD OPP RIDE PROGRAM LEADS TO IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE

(COLLINGWOOD, ON) - Members of the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged a motorist with impaired operation during a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program.

On July 15, 2026, at approximately 10:30 pm, officers were conducting a proactive RIDE program in the area of High Street and Campbell Street when they initiated an impaired driving investigation.

As a result of the investigation, Leala PERCY, 22 years of age, of Collingwood, was charged with:

  • Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
  • Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs

The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood at a later date.

In addition to the charges, the accused’s driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Members of the community can expect to see continued proactive traffic enforcement initiatives, including RIDE programs, aimed at improving road safety and ensuring motorists comply with traffic laws.
