DRUGS SEIZED IN THUNDER BAY, LONDON RESIDENT CHARGED

(THUNDER BAY, ON) - A London resident, as well as three other individuals from Thunder Bay and Fort William First Nation, are facing charges following a drug trafficking investigation in Thunder Bay.
In May 2026, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) including members from the Thunder Bay Police Service (TBPS) and Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS), in collaboration with Anishinabek Police Service (APS), began an intelligence-led investigation into drug trafficking activity in Thunder Bay. Evidence suggested that drugs were being trafficked from the Greater Toronto Area into Thunder Bay and Fort William First Nation.
On Thursday, June 11, 2026, four search warrants were executed in Thunder Bay and on Fort William First Nation by members from:
- OPP PGNG, including TBPS, NAPS and the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP)
- OPP Community Street Crime Unit
- Thunder Bay OPP
- TBPS Emergency Task Unit
- APS
As a result, officers seized the following:
- 565 g suspected fentanyl
- 475 g suspected cocaine
- 90 g suspected crack cocaine
- A quantity of a suspected cutting agent
- More than $19,000 CAD
- Five cell phones
- Digital scales
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $135,000.
As a result of the investigation, Jerome LINDSEY, age 44 of London, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code (CC) and Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, s. 354(1)(a) CC
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, s. 5(2) CDSA
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking - fentanyl, s. 5(2) CDSA - two counts
The accused was held for a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on Wednesday, June 24, 2026.
Kayla PELLETIER, age 37 of Fort William First Nation, was arrested and charged with the following offences:
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, s. 5(2) CDSA - two counts
- Production - crack cocaine, s. 7(1) CDSA
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Chelsea HALLSWORTH, age 42 of Thunder Bay and Darrell MEEKIS, age 35 of Thunder Bay, were arrested and each charged with the following offences:
- Possession of proceeds of property obtained by crime over $5,000, s. 354(1)(a) CC
- Possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, s. 5(2) CDSA - two counts
The accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Thunder Bay on Friday, July 17, 2026, and Tuesday, July 28, 2026, respectively.
The PGNG in North West Region consists of members from the OPP, TBPS and NAPS, with support from the RCMP.
