POLICE LAY CHARGES, SEIZE FIREARMS AND DRUGS IN TIMMINS INVESTIGATION

(TIMMINS, ON) - Multiple individuals, including two Greater Toronto Area (GTA) residents, are facing a combined 38 Criminal Code and Controlled drugs and Substances Act charges following a drug trafficking investigation in Timmins.
In February 2026, members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP)-led Provincial Guns and Gangs Enforcement Team (PGNG) and the Timmins Police Service initiated an intelligence-led investigation into a network with ties to the GTA that is suspected of trafficking drugs across northeastern Ontario and into Québec.
On Tuesday, May 26, 2026, four search warrants were executed on residences in Timmins and one on a residence in Kapuskasing by members from:
- OPP PGNG, including members from the Greater Sudbury Police Service and the Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS)
- Timmins Police Service General Law Enforcement and Drug Enforcement Unit
- OPP Community Street Crime Units
- OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau
- OPP Tactics and Rescue Unit
- OPP Aviation Services
- OPP Emergency Response Team
- OPP Canine Unit
- James Bay OPP
- Kirkland Lake OPP
- South Porcupine OPP
- NAPS Canine
As a result of the investigation, officers seized the following with approximate quantities:
- Two loaded handguns
- Ammunition
- 990 g suspected cocaine
- 350 g suspected fentanyl
- 230 g suspected methamphetamine
- 150 suspected methamphetamine tablets
- A quantity of suspected MDMA tablets, hydromorphone tablets and lorazepam tablets
- $2,795 in Canadian currency
- 11 cell phones
- Digital scales and packaging
The estimated street value of the drugs seized is $160,000.
Five individuals were arrested and charged with a combined 38 firearms and drug trafficking offences. Further details on the accused and their respective charges are available in the attached Addendum of Charged Persons.
