MISSISSAUGA OPP INVESTIGATES FATAL COLLISION ON HIGHWAY 401

(MISSISSAUGA, ON) - Two individuals are deceased following a two passenger-vehicle collision on Highway 401 in Mississauga.
On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at approximately 8:50 am, officers from the Mississauga Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a collision on the eastbound express lanes of Highway 401 near Dixie Road.
As a result of the collision, a 53-year-old female and an 80-year-old male, both from Cambridge were pronounced deceased at the scene. Three other individuals were transported to a local trauma centre with non-life-threatening injuries.
Highway 401 eastbound was fully closed at Mississauga Road for investigation with assistance from the Collision Reconstructionist and Technical Collision Investigators from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team. The highway opened around 3:40 pm
