(ADDINGTON HIGHLANDS TOWNSHIP, ON) - A collision involving a snowmobile and tree in Addington Highlands Township has left one person deceased.

On Saturday, February 21, 2026, around 1:00 pm, members of the Lennox and Addington County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to the scene on Ontario Federation of Snowmobile Clubs (OFSC) Trail E101. A snowmobile had collided with a tree off of the trail.

The driver of the snowmobile, identified as an 83-year-old woman from Iroquois, was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The investigation by Lennox and Addington County OPP, with the assistance of a Technical Collision Investigation officer and Collision Reconstructionist from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team, is continuing.
