OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL COLLISION IN TWEED

(TWEED, ON) - Members of the Central Hastings Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a single-vehicle collision in Tweed that has resulted in a fatality.
On Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at approximately 11:50 pm, officers responded to reports of a collision on Rapids Road between Martin Road and Marrisett Road.
As a result of the collision, the driver and lone occupant, a 41-year-old male from Foxboro, was pronounced deceased.
The investigation by Central Hastings OPP remains ongoing, with assistance from Collision Reconstructionists and Technical Collision Investigators from the OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (TIME) team.
Rapids Road was closed for several hours between Martin Road and Marrisett Road while emergency crews and investigators were on scene, but has since reopened.
