Suspect identified and arrested following public assistance
UPDATE - LONDON, ON (July 16, 2026) - Members of the London Police Service have identified and arrested a suspect in relation to a break and enter at a church over the weekend.
On July 15, 2026, police released images of a suspect and sought the public’s assistance with identifying the individual. As a result of information received from a member of the public, investigators were able to identify and locate the suspect male. The stolen flags were recovered; however, some stolen property remains outstanding.
As a result of the investigation, Alexandr Kovaliov, 26, of St. Thomas, has been charged with break and enter and theft.
The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in London court on October 13, 2026, in relation to the charge.
ORIGINAL - LONDON, ON (July 15, 2026) – Members of the London Police Service are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying a suspect in relation to a break and enter at a church over the weekend.
On Saturday, July 11, 2026, at approximately 2:20 am, a male entered a church in the area of Dufferin Avenue and Richmond. Once inside, he removed two handcrafted flags and multiple religious items.
The incident was reported to police, and the investigation was reassigned to the LPS Patrol Operations Investigative Section.
Investigators are releasing an image of the suspect, along with images of some of the stolen property, in the hopes that members of the public can assist with the investigation.
The suspect is described as male, 5’ 11”, wearing a green hoodie, jeans and white shoes.
Police are asking anyone with information in relation to the investigation, or who may be able to identify the suspect, to contact investigators.
