London man charged after vehicle stop
LONDON, ON (July 6, 2026) – A London man has been charged after an officer observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed in the city’s south end last week.
On Thursday, July 2, 2026, at approximately 9:10 pm, a member of the London Police Service Uniformed Division was on patrol in the area of Adelaide Street South and Thompson Road. The officer observed a pickup truck fail to stop for a red light and continue northbound on Adelaide Street South.
The officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop; however, the vehicle continued travelling at a high rate of speed and was passing other vehicles. As the vehicle approached Adelaide Street North and Nelson Street, it swerved around multiple vehicles before two tires became deflated.
The officer activated his emergency lights and siren to conduct a traffic stop. A short time later, the vehicle pulled into a parking lot in the area of Adelaide Street North and Hamilton Road, and the driver was arrested.
There were no reported injuries.
As a result of the investigation, Devlin Douglas Howe, 26, of London, has been charged with the following offences:
- Impaired operation of a conveyance
- Impaired exceed blood alcohol concentration
- Dangerous operation of a conveyance
The accused is scheduled to appear in London court on August 11, 2026, in relation to the charges.
