FATAL COLLISION IN NORTH STORMONT UNDER INVESTIGATION

(NORTH STORMONT, ON) - The Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry (SD&G) Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred near the community of Finch in North Stormont.

On Tuesday, July 15, 2025, at approximately 4:20 pm, SD&G OPP was dispatched to a head-on collision between a tractor-trailer and a pick-up truck on County Road 43 between MacMillan Road and St. Luke’s Road.

Despite lifesaving efforts from bystanders and EMS, the driver of the pick-up truck, a 46-year-old from Kemptville, was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the tractor-trailer was not injured.

OPP Technical Collision Investigators and a Reconstructionist attended the scene to assist with the investigation, which remains ongoing. County Road 43 was closed for several hours and has since re-opened.
