FRONTENAC OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL COLLISION

(FRONTENAC) - The Frontenac Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is investigating a fatal collision that occurred on Highway 401.
On July 8, 2026, shortly after 7:00 pm, Frontenac OPP officers responded to a collision westbound on Highway 401 near Division Street. Initial investigation indicates that a vehicle struck the concrete centre median. The driver exited the vehicle and was subsequently struck by a passing vehicle and pronounced deceased at the scene.
The deceased has been identified as a 56-year-old female from Carleton Place.
Highway 401 westbound was closed for several hours while members of the OPP Traffic Incident Management and Enforcement (TIME) Team assisted with the investigation.
