PERSON ARRESTED AFTER BREACHING RELEASE CONDITIONS

(BLIND RIVER, ON) - On July 15, 2026, the East Algoma Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested a person after breaching release conditions.
On June 27, 2026, OPP in the Mattawa area received numerous traffic complaints related to a small silver Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV) operating at high speeds, all over the road, and passing unsafely. The vehicle was later located and a spike belt had to be utilized because the driver failed to stop for police numerous times. The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with flight from police, dangerous operation, and fail to comply with Probation Order. He was held for bail but later released.
On July 15, 2026, at approximately 11:45 am Blind River OPP received information that the same male was breaching those release conditions. He was located a short time later and arrested once again.
Kody ETHIER, 35-years-old, of Blind River was further charged with:
- Fail to comply with Release Order
- Fail to comply with Probation Order
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice Bail Court again, this time in Blind River July 16, 2026.
