(TORONTO, ON) - The province’s Special Investigations Unit (SIU) has invoked its mandate following a collision involving a police vehicle on Highway 400 in North York.

On Friday, November 28, 2025, at approximately 7:00 am, an Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Highway Safety Division officer from the Toronto Detachment was involved in a collision with a passenger vehicle in the northbound lanes of Highway 400, north of Highway 401.

The driver of the passenger vehicle was transported to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. The officer sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital as a precaution. No other injuries were reported.
