TEMISKAMING OPP CHARGE DRIVER WITH IMPAIRED

(TEMISKAMING SHORES, ON) - A Temiskaming Shores resident is facing impaired driving charges after members of the Temiskaming Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a traffic complaint.
On July 9, 2026, at approximately 10:15 pm, the Temiskaming OPP received a report of a possible impaired driver leaving a sporting event in Temiskaming Shores. Officers located the suspect vehicle travelling on Armstrong Street North and conducted a traffic stop.
The police investigation led to the driver’s arrest. The driver was transported to the Temiskaming OPP Detachment, where further breath testing was conducted.
As a result of the investigation, Stephanie West, 45 years old, of Temiskaming Shores, has been charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Haileybury on August 25, 2026.
In addition to the criminal charges, the accused received a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS), and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
