On June 4, 2026, detectives from our Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) concluded an investigation into individuals believed to be trafficking illicit drugs in our community. The DEU with the assistance of the Emergency Response Unit (ERU) executed a Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA) search warrant at 720 Bruce Avenue where one individual was taken into custody.

Upon searching the individual, area, and residence, detectives located approximately 30 grams of cocaine, 22 grams of fentanyl, two cell phones, and $1,281.55 in cash. The estimated street value of the seized drugs is $5,200.

As a result of the investigation, 37-year-old, Jonathan Hill of Toronto has been charged with the following offences under the CDSA and Criminal Code of Canada:

  • Possession of a schedule I controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking x2
  • Possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000
  • Fail to comply with release order
  • Personation with intent to avoid arrest

Jonathan Hill attended bail court on June 5, 2026, to answer to the charges and has since been remanded into custody.

In October 2025, detectives from our DEU arrested and charged Jonathan Hill at a residence located at 720 Bruce Avenue in relation to drug trafficking offences. At the time, Jonathan Hill was released through the judicial bail process and is also before the courts in relation to that matter.
