DRIVER CHARGED FOLLOWING STOP EAST OF LONGLAC

(Longlac, ON) - A driver is facing impaired driving charges following a traffic stop for stunt driving on Highway 11, east of Longlac.
On Tuesday, June 16th, 2026, at approximately 11:00 am, a member with Greenstone Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was conducting traffic enforcement on Highway 11, east of Longlac and stopped a vehicle travelling 150km/hr in a 90km/hr zone. During the traffic stop, the officer noted signs of impairment and began investigating.
As a result of the investigation, Md Abrar FUAD, 40-year-old of Stittsville, Ontario, was arrested and charged under the Criminal Code, Highway Traffic Act and Liquor Licence Control Act with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Drive motor vehicle - preform stunt - excessive speed
- Speeding 50+ Km/h over posted limit
- Having care or control of a motor vehicle with liquor readily available
The accused received a 90-day driver’s licence suspension, and their vehicle was impounded for 14 days. They are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Longlac on July 2nd, 2026.
