SINGLE MOTOR VEHICLE COLLISION LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGES

(KIRKLAND LAKE, ON) - A single motor vehicle collision leads to impaired charges.
On Monday April 20, 2026, at approximately 1:00 am, the Kirkland Lake Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 11, Maisonville Township. Upon speaking with the driver, officers determined that the driver had consumed an alcoholic beverage. The accused was arrested and transported to the Kirkland Lake detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Christopher Faria, a 36-year-old of Kitchener, has been charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration 80 plus
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Careless driving
The accused was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (A.D.L.S) and a seven-day vehicle impoundment. The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Kirkland Lake Ontario Court of Justice on July 2, 2026.
