Third Individual Arrested

(CLARENCE-ROCKLAND, ON) - A third individual has been arrested for first degree murder in connection with a homicide investigation in Clarence-Rockland.

On Saturday, May 17, 2025, at approximately 5:30 pm, officers from the Russell County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a report of a body discovered in the Ottawa River, near Dallaire Street. The deceased was identified as Robert PREVOST, 63 years old of Clarence-Rockland, who was reported missing in early March 2025. He was last seen at his home on Laurier Street in early February 2025.

Earlier this month, two people were arrested and charged with first degree murder and indignity to a body in relation to this investigation.

Following further investigation, on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, Yvon VIENO, 38 years old of Ottawa, was arrested and charged with the following Criminal Code offences:

  • First degree murder, s. 235(1)
  • Conspiracy to commit murder, s. 465(1)(a)
  • Indignity to a body, s. 182(b)

The accused remains in custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in L’Orignal on Thursday, June 25, 2026.
