BOATER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED OPERATION

(SOUTH BRUCE PENINSULA, ON) - On July 11, 2026, members of the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Marine Unit were conducting proactive marine patrols on Lake Huron in the Municipality of South Bruce Peninsula.
At approximately 7:30 pm, officers conducted a vessel inspection and observed open alcoholic beverage containers on board. As a result of the investigation, officers initiated an impaired operation investigation.
The operator of the vessel was subsequently arrested.
Jeffery WYRZYKOWSKI, 64-years-old, from South Bruce Peninsula, has been charged under the Criminal Code of Canada with:
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 Plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on August 20, 2026.
In addition, the accused’s driver’s licence was administratively suspended for 90 days, as required by statute.
