(GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) - The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one individual following a traffic stop that resulted in the seizure of suspected illicit drugs with an estimated street value exceeding $42,000.

On July 11, 2026, at approximately 11:00 am, a Grey Bruce OPP officer was conducting proactive patrol on Grey Road 3 near Sideroad 3 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs. While on patrol, the officer’s Automated Licence Plate Reader (ALPR) alerted to a vehicle associated with a Highway Traffic Act violation.

The officer conducted a traffic stop and spoke with the driver. During the interaction, the officer observed cannabis products within the vehicle, which led to a further investigation and search of the vehicle.

As a result of the search, police located and seized the following with approximate quantities:

  • 176 grams of suspected cocaine, with an estimated street value of $17,600
  • 199.1 grams of suspected methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $19,900
  • 19.4 grams of suspected fentanyl, with an estimated street value of $4,750

The total estimated street value of the drugs seized is approximately $42,250.

Based on common street-level quantities, the drugs seized represent approximately:

  • 176 individual sales of cocaine (sold by the gram)
  • 1,991 individual sales of methamphetamine (sold by the gram)
  • 194 individual sales of fentanyl (sold by the point)

The driver was arrested without incident.

Dru NORRIS, 26-years-old, of Brampton, has been charged with the following offences:

Controlled drugs and Substances Act (CDSA)

  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Cocaine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Methamphetamine
  • Possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking - Fentanyl

Criminal Code (CC)

  • Operation While Prohibited

Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

  • Drive While Suspended
  • Drive Motor Vehicle - No Currently Validated Permit

Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)

  • Fail to Surrender Insurance Card

Cannabis Control Act (CCA)

  • Drive Vehicle with Cannabis Readily Available

The accused was held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound and was remanded into custody.
