DRUG TRAFFICKING INVESTIGATION LEADS TO SEIZURE OF 1 KG OF FENTANYL; TWO INDIVIDUALS CHARGED

(GREY BRUCE, ON) - The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals following a drug trafficking investigation that began in May 2026.

On July 6, 2026, at approximately 8:20 pm, members of the Grey Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU), with assistance from the OPP West Region Emergency Response Team and OPP West Region Canine Unit, conducted a traffic stop on Highway 10 at Collingwood Street in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, where two individuals were arrested without incident. Officers searched the vehicle and located and seized a package containing suspected fentanyl.

Following the arrests, on July 7, 2026, members of the Grey Bruce CSCU executed two search warrants at a residence on 6th Avenue West near 28th Street West in Owen Sound, as well as one search warrant at a building on Grey Road 12 in the Municipality of Meaford.

As a result of the investigation officers seized the following with approximate quantities:

  • 1,001 grams of suspected fentanyl, with an estimated street value of $250,000
  • 8.4 grams of suspected methamphetamine, with an estimated street value of $850
  • $30,000 in offence-related property

As a result of the investigation, the following individuals have been charged under the Controlled drugs and Substances Act:

Martin AGUIRRE, 48-years-old, of Owen Sound

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking

Jessica PROCTOR, 34-years-old, of Meaford

  • Possession of fentanyl for the purpose of trafficking
  • Possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking

Both accused were held for a bail hearing before the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 7, 2026, and were remanded into custody.
