IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED FOLLOWING FAIL TO REMAIN COLLISION

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) - Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation following a motor vehicle collision.
On Wednesday June 24, 2026 at approximately 8:38 pm, officers were dispatched to a two vehicle collision in Omemee. The driver was located, arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and Highway Traffic Act offences.
Scott Hoy, 50-year-old of Omemee was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration (80 plus)
- Fail to Remain
- Careless Driving
- Driver Fail to Surrender Licence
- Fail to Report Accident
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
