JULY 10 TH WAS A BUSY NIGHTSHIFT FOR OFFICERS
(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) - Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged two impaired drivers on July 11th.
On Saturday July 11, 2026 at approximately 01:24 am officers responded to reports of a single motor vehicle collision on Highway 35 in Fenelon Township. Through investigation the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Jenica Nelson, 26 year old of Fenelon Falls, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and drugs
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
Later on, Saturday July 11, 2026 at approximately 01:52 am officers responding to a call for service and while enroute made observation in regards to a possible impaired driver operating a conveyance. This occurred on Manvers Drive in Manvers Township. Through investigation the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada.
Joshuah Mugford, 28 year old of Nestleton, was charged with:
- Operation While Impaired - Blood Alcohol Concentration 80 plus
The accused are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the conveyance were impounded for 7 days.
