IMPAIRED DRIVING OFFENCES LAID IN CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES

CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON - Members of the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have laid multiple impaired driving charges following separate incidents on July 17, 2026.
On July 17, 2026, at approximately 12:47 am, officers conducted a traffic stop for a Highway Traffic Act offence on Highway 35. Through investigation, the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving-related offences.
Shana UJULI, 23-year-old of Scarborough, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
Later that day, at approximately 10:35 pm, officers responded to reports of a motor vehicle performing burnouts in the area of Killarney Bay Road. Officers attended and located the driver. As a result of the investigation, impaired driving charges were laid.
Thomas MARSHALL, 28-year-old of Fenelon Falls, was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Drive motor vehicle, no currently validated permit
- Drive motor vehicle, fail to display two plates
Both accused are scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. Both drivers received an immediate 90-day driver’s licence suspension and a 7-day vehicle impoundment.
