OFFICERS ON GENERAL PATROL ARRESTED AN IMPAIRED DRIVER

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON) - Members from the City of Kawartha Lakes Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) entered into an impaired driving investigation following a traffic stop.
On Monday June 29, 2026 at approximately 9:44 pm, officers on general patrol in Fenelon Falls observed a traffic violation and conducted a traffic stop, through investigation the driver was arrested and charged with impaired driving related offences under the Criminal Code of Canada and offences under the Highway Traffic Act.
Trevor Barton, 33-year-old of Fenelon Falls, was charged with:
- Operation while Impaired - Alcohol and drugs
- Disobey Stop Sign
The accused is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Lindsay at a later date. The drivers licence was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
