OPP’S TRAFFIC ENFORECMENT EFFORTS LEADS TO CHARGES

(RENFREW, ON) - The Renfrew Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) were working together to keep the roads safe over the weekend.

On Saturday, July 26, 2025, at approximately 1:00 pm, HSD officers observed a group of motorcycles driving at a high rate of speed on Centennial Lake Road in the Township of Greater Madawaska. OPP stopped one of the bikes after it was observed traveling 151 km/hr in a posted 80 km/hr zone.

As a result of the investigation, a 45-year-old from Newcastle was charged with stunt driving and speeding.

The driver is facing a 14-day impound and a 30 day licence suspension.
