R.I.D.E. PROGRAM LEADS TO IMPAIRED CHARGE

(CENTRAL ELGIN, ON) - One person is charged with impaired driving at a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (RIDE) program in the Municipality of Central Elgin.
On Sunday, June 21, 2026, at approximately 5:43 pm, Elgin Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a RIDE on Carlow Road in the village of Port Stanley and the driver of a motor vehicle failed to provide a suitable sample of her breath.
Colleen MEILLER, a 64-year-old from London was charged under the Criminal Code with:
- Failure or refusal to comply with demand
A 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension (ADLS) and a 7-day Vehicle Impoundment was initiated as per statute.
The accused was released on an Undertaking and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in St. Thomas on Tuesday, August 4, 2026.
