(MALAHIDE, ON) - Members of the Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating a sudden death in the Township of Malahide.
On Thursday, June 4, 2026, at approximately 5:27 pm, Elgin OPP and the Malahide Fire Department were dispatched to an address on Avon Drive for a controlled burn that was out of control.
A 92-year-old of Malahide was located deceased in the wooded area.
Members of the Elgin County Crime Unit, the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Office of the Fire Marshall were engaged.
The incident was deemed not suspicious.
