Area Clear - Individual In Custody
(WEST ELGIN, ON) - The Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on scene at a residential property with a barricaded subject. Individual has been since placed into custody without issue.
On Sunday, July 5, 2026, at approximately 9:37 am, the Elgin County OPP were called to a residence in the village of West Lorne, Municipality of West Elgin for a disturbance.
The Elgin County OPP, alongside West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (TRU), West Region Emergency Response Team (ERT), OPP Canine, Crisis Negotiators and Emergency Medical Services were on scene.
As a result of the investigation, one individual was arrested without issue.
There is no threat to public safety. This was an isolated incident.
