STOLEN VEHICLE RECOVERED ON HIGHWAY 401 BY OPP

(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have recovered a stolen vehicle and charged one individual following a traffic stop on Highway 401.
On March 12, 2026, shortly before 11:00 am, officers were on patrol on Highway 401 eastbound in the Township of Alnwick/Haldimand when the in‑cruiser Automated License Plate Recognition (ALPR) system alerted them to a stolen vehicle. The passenger vehicle had been reported stolen one week earlier from a location in Quebec.
The vehicle was stopped by officers, and the driver was taken into custody.
Ali DUVAL (35) from Blainville, Quebec has been charged with:
- Theft of motor vehicle
- Possession of property obtained by crime over $5,000
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg in April.
