MANITOULIN OPP INVESTIGATING FATAL COLLISION IN LITTLE CURRENT

(LITTLE CURRENT, ON) - One individual has been pronounced deceased following a two-vehicle collision.
On Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at approximately 9:10 am, members of the Manitoulin Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to a two-vehicle collision involving a motorcycle and a vehicle pulling a trailer on Highway 6 near White’s Point Road in the Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands (NEMI) Township.
A 72-year-old male from Thunder Bay was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
Highway 6 between Green Bush Road and Morphet’s Side Road in the NEMI Township remains closed. The investigation remains ongoing with assistance from the OPP Technical Collision Investigators and Reconstructionist.
