(M’CHIGEENG FIRST NATION, ON) - United Chiefs & Councils of Manitoulin (UCCM) Anishnaabe Police Service, together with Manitoulin OPP, are asking residents in the area of Riverside Dr. in M’Chigeeng First Nation to shelter-in-place. Officers are responding to a disturbance involving a potentially armed individual.
People in the area of Riverside Dr. in M’Chigeeng First Nation Members are urged to shelter-in-place and adhere to the following safety precautions:
- If you are outside, seek shelter immediately in a secure location
- If you are inside, lock all doors and windows, and close curtains or blinds to avoid drawing attention
- Do not approach or engage with a stranger
- If you are driving, proceed directly to your destination and do not pick up hitchhikers
- Follow any instructions provided by officers at the scene
Individuals not currently in this area are requested to avoid travelling there until further notice. An increased police presence can be expected while officers continue their response and investigation.
