PATROLS YIELD IMPAIRED CHARGES

(LOMBARDY, ON) - A member of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged an individual with impaired driving following a traffic stop on Highway 15, south of Smiths Falls.
On Friday, June 19, 2026, at approximately 8:00 pm, an officer was conducting patrol on Highway 15 when a vehicle was observed swerving. A traffic stop was conducted, and a roadside screening device was utilized. The driver was transported back to detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Daniell KENDRICK, 48 years old of Smiths Falls, has been charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration
- Assault with intent to resist arrest - two counts
- Driving motor vehicle with liquor readily available
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on July 31, 2026. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days.
