WRONG-WAY DRIVER CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

(BROCKVILLE, ON) - A member of the Leeds County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has arrested and charged an individual with impaired driving following a traffic stop on Parkedale Avenue in Brockville.
On Friday, June 26, 2026, at approximately 9:30 pm, an officer was travelling on Parkedale Avenue in the City of Brockville when an oncoming vehicle was observed in the officer’s lane. A traffic stop was conducted, and a roadside screening device was utilized. The driver was transported back to detachment for further testing.
As a result of the investigation, Patrice THEORET, 63 years old of Salaberry-de-Valleyfield, Québec, has been charged with Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration.
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Brockville on August 7, 2026. Their driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days, and their vehicle was impounded for 7 days.
