Another Firearm Taken Off Hamilton Streets

On November 3rd 2024 Hamilton Police attended Limeridge Mall for a suspicious person. This was related to a prior call of individuals who had been reported shoplifting from a store at the mall the day prior.
The responding officers saw the involved vehicle and attempted to conduct a traffic stop. The 26 year old female driver of the vehicle failed to stop and fled but inadvertently drove into a dead end street and was forced to stop. The 25 year old male passenger fled from the vehicle and officers entered into a foot pursuit. During the course of this pursuit the male discarded a loaded handgun into a garbage can in a park. This gun was recovered. Thanks to our quick thinking and spry officers the individual was located and arrested a short distance away.
Anthony COSIC of Hamilton, was charged with:
- Fail to Comply Release Order x 3
- Possession of a Prohibited Firearm
- Occupant of Motor Vehicle knowing there was Firearm
- Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm.
Shadia YUSUF NOOR of Hamilton, was charged with:
- Disobey Court Order x 2
- Flight from Peace Officer
- Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Under $5000.
