Hamilton Police Investigating Suspicious House Fire

Hamilton Police and Hamilton Fire responded to a residential fire in the Landsdale neighbourhood on July 10, 2026, at approximately 4:40 am
The fire is being treated as suspicious. As a result of the investigation, a 35-year-old Hamilton man was arrested and charged with:
- Arson – Disregard for Human Life
- Arson – Damage to Property
- Possession of Incendiary Materials
Investigators have applied for a Criminal Code search warrant to examine the residence and gather additional evidence related to the offences.
No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. Damage to the property is estimated at approximately $300,000.
Investigators are not seeking any additional suspects at this time. Based on the evidence gathered, police believe this was an isolated incident and is not connected to any other recent fires. The investigation remains ongoing.
