Pedestrian Suffers Serious Life Altering injuries after being struck by Motor Vehicle in Bus Shelter

On Thursday June 25, 2026, just after 4:30 PM, Hamilton police responded to a motor vehicle collision, involving a pedestrian, on King Street East in the area of Dundurn Street North.
A Ford Edge SUV was exiting the parking lot of the Tim Hortons Plaza onto King Street East, travelling westbound, when it lost control and struck a 54-year-old male that was waiting in the bus shelter for the bus.
The male was transported to hospital, with serious life altering injuries. The female driver of the Ford Edge was not injured.
All investigative avenues are being considered at this time.
Hamilton Police Collision Reconstruction Unit has taken carriage of the investigation. Any potential witnesses to this collision are urged to come forward. Investigators are also requesting any motorists in the area at the time of the collision to check their dash cameras and any residences or businesses in the area with surveillance cameras to review their camera footage.
