COMPLAINT RESULTS IN IMPAIRED CHARGE

(QUINTE WEST, ON) - The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.
On Friday, July 10, 2026, at approximately 7:30 pm, officers with the Quinte West OPP responded to a traffic complaint on Loyalist Parkway, leading to an investigation where an ASD was used, resulting in the arrest of the driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
Jason TRUMPER, age 31, from Cobourg, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 27, 2026. Additionally, the vehicle they were operating was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.
