MOTORIST CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

(QUINTE WEST, ON) - The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.
On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at approximately 5:45 pm, a traffic complaint on Front Street, Quinte West, led Quinte West OPP to suspect a motorist may have been under the influence of alcohol.
The driver was arrested and transported to the Quinte West Detachment for testing.
Eric STEVENS, age 29, from Trenton, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on July 23, 2026. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.
