MOTORIST CHARGED WITH IMPAIRED

(QUINTE WEST, ON) - The Quinte West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has laid charges in an impaired driving investigation.
On Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at approximately 2:30 am, officers were conducting a RIDE program on Highway 401 Eastbound off ramp at Walbridge-Loyalist Road, where an Approved Screening Device (ASD) was utilized, resulting in the arrest of a driver for being impaired. The driver was transported to the detachment for further testing.
Tyler MURRAY, age 25, from Oshawa, was charged with the following offences:
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operation while impaired - alcohol and drugs
The accused was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Belleville on August 27, 2026. Additionally, the vehicle was impounded for seven days, and their licence suspended for 90 days.
