SUSPECT CHARGED AFTER COPPER WIRE THEFT IN KENORA

(KENORA, ON) - Kenora OPP have charged one individual following an incident involving damaged Bell Canada service lines on Transmitter Road on June 11th, 2026. Officers responded after a Bell employee reported that a male dressed in black had cut and removed cable before fleeing into the nearby bush. A Toyota Tundra associated to the suspect was located at the scene.
Kenora OPP officers, along with the Emergency Response Team and K9 Unit, attended the area and conducted a search. The suspect, Christopher PAQUETTE, was located and arrested. PAQUETTE was charged with Mischief Over $5,000 with contrary to section 430(3) of the Criminal Code.
The damaged lines were recovered, and the associated vehicle was seized for identification purposes. PAQUETTE was held for a bail hearing scheduled for June 12th, 2026.
