Detectives Investigating Armed Home Invasion – Niagara Falls

On Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at approximately 4:45 AM, Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) uniform officers responded to a residence on St Paul Avenue in the City of Niagara Falls for an armed robbery.
Responding officers learned that suspects attended the address and made entrance into the home by breaking the glass of a rear sliding door. The suspects brandished a firearm during the offence and made demands for personal items and vehicle keys. The victim received minor injuries from an assault. The suspects fled the scene prior to police arrival.
While no security measure can completely prevent crime, homeowners may wish to review home security systems in order to deter criminals. Some tips to improve home security include:
- Consider installing security cameras and/or video doorbell system
- Install solid-core doors on all exterior doors with deadbolt locks
- Install bright security lighting on the exterior of your home. Using motion detectors is a good consideration to conserve energy while providing security
- Installing fencing with a secure lockable gate to prevent easy access to the rear of your home
- Remove/trim decorative shrubs and trees that may obstruct anyone seeing if a burglar is at your home
- If you hear a commotion in your residence, call 911 immediately
