Drug Trafficking Investigation Results in Two Arrests – Fort Erie

In April 2026, the Niagara Regional Police Service (NRPS) 2 District (Niagara Falls/Niagara-on-the-Lake) Street Crime Unit (SCU) and 5 District (Fort Erie) Criminal Investigative Branch (CIB) began a drug trafficking investigation in the Town of Fort Erie. A suspect was observed exhibiting behaviour consistent with the illegal trafficking of drugs at a residence on Mississauga Avenue.
On April 28, 2026, at approximately 11:40 PM, detectives arrested the suspect in the City of Welland. Detectives applied for and were subsequently granted a judicial search warrant for the residence. While executing the warrant, a second wanted person was located and arrested within the residence.
As a result of the investigation, the following items were seized:
- 44.3 grams of suspected cocaine (street value of $4400)
- 35.9 grams of suspected fentanyl (street value of $3590)
- 38 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine (street value of $3040)
- 34 hydromorphone tablets (street value of $680)
- $1300 Canadian currency
48-year-old Laura PEARSON of Fort Erie is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime over $5000 (2 counts)
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (6 counts)
53-year-old Rosario MORIN of Fort Erie is charged with the following criminal offences:
- Possession of Proceeds of Property obtained by Crime under $5000
- Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking (3 counts)
Both PEARSON and MORIN attended a bail hearing on April 29, 2026 at the Robert S.K. Welch Courthouse, located at 59 Church Street in St. Catharines.
