(SUDBURY, ON) - One driver was charged with stunt driving.

On Monday June 16, 2026, at approximately 4:35 pm, the North East Region Traffic Incident Management Enforcement (T.I.M.E.) Team of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle traveling greater than the posted speed limit, on Highway 17, in the City of Greater Sudbury.

The vehicle was travelling at a speed of 153 kilometres per hour (km/h) in a posted 90 km/h zone.

As a result of the investigation, a 20-year-old driver, from Wahnapitae, was charged with, drive motor vehicle - perform stunt - excessive speed.

The accused is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 4, 2026, in Sudbury.

The driver was issued a 30 day Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for 14 days.
