A TRAFFIC COMPLAINT ABOUT A FLAT TIRE RESULTED IN DRIVER CHARGED

(FRENCH RIVER, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) arrested and charged one person with impaired driving after responding to a traffic complaint.
On Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at approximately 4:00 pm, members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP, received a report of a vehicle traveling with a flat tire on Highway 64, French River.
The vehicle was located and the driver, Joanne DUPUIS, 66 years old, from Alban was arrested for impaired driving and was charged with:
- Operation while impaired - alcohol
- Operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus)
- Operate unsafe vehicle
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 5, 2026, in Sudbury.
The driver was issued a 90-day Administrative Driver’s Licence Suspension and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
