PROHIBITED DRIVER ARRESTED AFTER A TRAFFIC STOP FOR SPEEDING

(ATIKAMEKSHENG FIRST NATION, ON) - One person was arrested and charged after police conducted a traffic stop with a prohibited driver.
On Friday May 8, 2026, at approximately 3:00 pm, members from the Atikameksheng Anishnawbek Police Service were on general patrol, conducting traffic enforcement when a vehicle was stopped for speeding on Pine Grove Road, Atikameksheng First Nation.
The driver was found to be both a suspended and prohibited driver and was arrested.
As a result of the investigation, Cierra CORBIERE, 24 years old, from Naughton, was charged with:
- Operation while prohibited under the Criminal Code
- Driving while under suspension - two counts
- Speeding 1 - 49 Km/h over posted limit
The accused was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on August 5, 2026, in Sudbury. The vehicle was impounded for 45-days, at the cost of the owner.
