Deceased Identified

(SUDBURY, ON) - The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has identified the decease to be a 51-year-old person from Cambridge.

On Friday June 13, 2025, at approximately 1:15 am, members from the Nipissing West (Sudbury) Detachment of the OPP, Fire Services and Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a collision, involving two Commercial Motor Vehicles (CMV) on Highway 17, Sudbury.

One driver was pronounced deceased at the scene, while the second driver was transported by EMS to the local hospital with serious, but non-life-threatening injuries.

The highway was closed in both directions for over 18 hours during the investigation and removal of the vehicles.
