CHARGES LAID IN RELATION TO DRUG OVERDOSE DEATH IN WASAGA BEACH

(WASAGA BEACH, ON) - Members of the Huronia West Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged one person in relation to a drug overdose death investigation in Wasaga Beach.
On Friday, November 28, 2025, at approximately 7:35 pm, Huronia West OPP officers, along with Emergency Medical Services, responded to a sudden death occurrence in the Town of Wasaga Beach. Emergency responders located 34-year-old Thomas WARREN unconscious. Life-saving measures were attempted; however, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
As a result of the investigation, on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, Patrick MOORE, 33 years old of Wasaga Beach, was arrested and charged with:
- Manslaughter, section 236(b) of the Criminal Code
- Trafficking in Schedule I substance, section 5(1) of the Controlled drugs and Substances Act
- Failure to comply with probation order, section 733.1(1) of the Criminal Code
The accused is scheduled to appear before the Ontario Court of Justice in Collingwood on Tuesday, July 21, 2026.
