FATHER’S DAY FISHING HOOKED A CROWD IN CENTRAL HURON
(CENTRAL HURON, ON) - Members of the Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended a local Father’s Day fishing event in the Municipality of Central Huron on Sunday, June 21, 2026.
Organized by the Municipality of Central Huron, and hosted by the Blue Stone Wake Park, families were invited to partake in a fun-filled morning of fishing in a pond - stocked with fish, a tasty barbeque, lots of door prizes, and a chance to see OPP All Terrain Vehicles (ATV’s) and police cruisers up close. An OPP drone was on site as well, which the kids really enjoyed.
“The weather was just perfect for this event! There was a great turnout with over 160 people in attendance. Some families had three generations present, which was great to see! Our officers were able to show off our patrol ATV’s and hand out lots of stickers, Froster coupons, and OPP trading cards to the kids. It was a very fun, memorable day for everyone, especially for the dad’s out there!”, stated Provincial Constable Craig Soldan, Community Engagement Officer with the Huron County O.P.P.
