(NORWICH TOWNSHIP, ON) - A two-vehicle crash has resulted in injuries and a diesel leak.

On April 22, 2026, at approximately 9:15 am, members of the Oxford detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to a two-vehicle collision at Highway 53 and Subway Line, in Norwich Township.

A transport truck carrying diesel and a pick-up truck collided.

The pick-up truck driver was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries. The driver of the transport truck was taken to hospital as a precaution.

The driver of the pick-up truck, a 25-year-old from Ruthven has been charged with:

Highway 53 between Highway 2 and Towerline Road was closed for several hours to conduct the investigation and clean up the leak. The road has since re-opened.
